LADOT Launches NoHo DASH Line

The Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) has launched the NoHo DASH Line, a new community transit service that is set to revolutionize the way residents of the North Hollywood area of the city get around. The 6.5-mile NoHo DASH Line loop is designed to be a neighborhood circulator service, with stops at key locations throughout the community, making local destinations more accessible than ever before.

The launch of the NoHo DASH Line is a major step forward for the residents of North Hollywood and the city of Los Angeles as a whole. By providing a reliable and convenient neighborhood circulator service, the new transit route will make it easier for residents to access key locations throughout their community and connect with other forms of public transportation. This will not only improve the quality of life for residents but also help to reduce congestion and decrease the environmental impacts of commuting in the city. The NoHo DASH Line will offer residents of North Hollywood a reliable and convenient transportation option that will ease congestion and decrease the environmental impacts of commuting.

According to Council President Krekorian, "In the 1930s, a young person like my mother could travel all over the Valley on the Red Car and other forms of public transportation. Things changed, and we became more car-centric, but now things are changing again. With important steps like this new DASH line, we're making it possible for people of all ages to live, work, and travel around the city without a car."

The NoHo DASH Line is the result of a 2017 LADOT Transit Service Analysis with the goal of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of all LADOT transit services. The new service will give Angelenos more ways to travel within their own neighborhoods, while also connecting them to other forms of public transit.

"At LADOT, we are committed to building out a transportation network that connects people to their communities and gets them to where they need to go safely and reliably," said LADOT Interim General Manager Connie Llanos. "The NoHo line will not only connect residents to schools, grocery stores, and retail, but it will also help them connect to other forms of public transit, giving them real options for how they travel."

Operating in 30-minute frequencies, the bi-directional DASH loop will operate from 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM Monday- Friday and 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays except on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The new service will provide residents of North Hollywood with a convenient, reliable, and affordable transportation option that will make it easier than ever to get around their community.
